Hey... I'm using Orthos to stress my CPU... my current temps according to Core temp is:

Core 0 - 62c
Core 1 - 62c

That's at load.... Would this mean my CPU temp is at around 48c (As the off-set is 15c if I'm understanding correctly?)

TAT shows:
Core 0 - 62c
Core 1 - 60c

SpeedFan shows:
Core 0 - 77c
Core 1 - 78c

Which is most reliable... could someone explain this to me before I attempt any more overclocking.

Thanks

Temps are defo a bit toasty I would think. Gen consensus is to keep temps under load preferably under 60, although max for this chip is 85 at which point it will throttle. I am sure i will be corrected if I am wrong - might wan't to consider a better cooler or can you reduce core voltage & still remain stable?

Gonna try and drop the voltage now... Was 5hrs 30mins stable at this voltage... nVidia Monitor reads temps from the bios and shows my current temp at:55c at load... but thats with my side panel off :P

What voltage were you at before - I am running mine at 3300 at 1.325 again orthos stable for 4+ hours temps were max about 51/52 for a comparison. Hope this helps

1.4v for 3.4ghz?

You should be able to reach that with no more than 1.35v easy

It will boot into windows but freezes after a while

What is your NB set to? & have you fully tested your ram - timings may need to be slackened slightly. Miight be poss reasons for the freezing after a while - let us know.

how do u mean by NB mate?

my ram is at stock settings mate 1066mhz 5 5 5 15

NB - north bridge - you may wish to check the voltage set for it - as a slight bump up depending on what your at now could help stability of the front side bus by taking some load off, may also help ram, and these together may allow you to drop the core voltage & temps and still stay stable. Sure someone will put me right if this is not correct.

ps

off to get some zzzzzz - will check back tomorrow
