Hey guys,

Ill try and keep this as simple as possible, even though im a noob!

I have bought a laptop, it has 32 bit windows vista business installed.

I am a student and so have a free copy of 64 bit windows professional "upgrade".

The laptop doesnt have an optical drive.

I have tried to create a bootable USB stick with windows 7 64 bit on. The software made by windows however finishes and said its installed on the USB, but it couldnt make it bootable.

From what i have researched this is because i dont have "bootsect.exe" which i would be able to download from windows if i had of bought the software off of them!

Is there any way i can make the USB bootable without this "bootsect.exe".

Other wise i am going to have to get an external DVD drive.

I can click set up on the USB once in the OS but since its a 32 bit operating system its plugged into, it wont work. I am toled i have to boot into the installation.

Sorry if this isnt very clear.

Please help guys i HATE vista!

Harry
