Hi All,

Wonder if anyone can help me.

I like to DJ and have done for some time and I was wondering how I could record the sound and video to my PC properly.

I have already used a webcam for this but want to source the sound directly from my mixer so I don't get external noise etc.

I would like advice on a possible hardware/software combination that will allow me to video my mixes whilst recording the sound directly from the mixer to my pc. I would then hope to have a file (avi/mpg etc) that would have both the sound and video

Would this be possible using my pc and/or software?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help given.

Kribby.

You could let your standard soundcard input (mini jack) carry the audio to your pc. Depends on the quality you are after, but in the past i have found this to be more than adequate.
If you want something better then go for this " M-Audio Audiophile 2496 " google will take you to a well known site with 2 letters and 3 numbers.

Once you have sound sorted, its just a matter of getting a program that records sound and video. I think windows movie maker can do this but i have not tried.

All you do is set the video source to your Webcam and the audio source to your Soundcard input.

Let us know how you get on!

First of all thank you both for your replies.

Think i'll give the webcam a go, I remember the bit regarding audio source now you mention it.

Thanks again :D
