Trying to help a friend build a new machine, it will be by their TV, of which will be used for some 1080 gaming as well as a media machine

budget is £1000

i have started off with this so far

Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM
Gigabyte Z97N-WIFI Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Beast 16GB (2x8GB) PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX16C9T3K2/16X)
Palit GeForce GTX 750TI KalmX SILENT 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
SuperFlower Golden Silent 500W Fanless "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black
Pioneer BDR-S09XLT 16x BluRay / 16x DVD±RW 50GB Drive - Black (Retail)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00614)
Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E250B/EU)
Western Digital Caviar Green 3TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD30EZRX) HDD

This is just under the price and still requires a case and CPU cooler

can anyone make any recommendations or suggestions of a similar quiet build?

Thanks

With gaming, I don't think 16GB is required. You could save on this and definitely fit in yourself a better GPU, as the 750Ti isn't a powerhouse compared to cards you could fit in budget

I picked 16gb mainly as its the maximum the board supports and this is their first PC in 7 years and it will probably last the same again, so thought might as well

For the GPU, change it to this for £150?

Inno3D GeForce GTX 960 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Just need to fit a CPU cooler and case in for £1000

Thanks Stulid, I just picked the Gigabyte one as i seemed the best for the price

Id prefer not to have that Seagate drive as we have thrown away a few from work as they start off ok then performance drops through the floor and we replaced them with WD blacks

Thanks for the case, do you know if it comes with dust filters?

Thanks again

Thanks, can you recommend anything as looking at the images for the case, i see 120mm on the left? and a long side grill on the right

Edit: the BX100 is out of stock, any idea when it will be back in?

perhaps this at £84.98 - Kingston HyperX 3K SSD 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s Solid State Drive and i'll make him spend a little bit more

Does the Silverstone SST-SOB02 come with the adapter?

the 850 Evo is £10 more than the HyperX, worth it?

Thanks
