I have a problem when trying to play any games on my computer. I have this error message "the instruction at "0x7c8ee0d7" referenced memory at "0x71ee0d4" The memory could not be written. I have never had this error message before when playing any game, but now its happened when trying to play Fear, BF2, SP:CT, Prey, Call Of Jurez Demo. I do not know why this is happening. As I have always been able to play games no probs in the past.

I have had no errors in memtest86, everything is running at stock and temps are fine cpu is at 33, Nb is at 41, my HDD's are at 40.

New prog instalation or a windows update causing conflict in my opinion.
Are you using any emulation software or CD ripping software ?

The last application I installed was Lavasoft Ad-aware SE. (un-installing now)

I have Nero 7 and RecordMaxNow burning software installed, they have never caused any problems in the past, no emulation software on my system

try doing a system restore

Completed a system restore, same fault. Which makes me think that this fault is quite old, but never showed its ugly head until now, as I haven't been playing games for a while now. I am gonna have to go over everything thing that has been installed over the past 6 months including the MS updates :(

TBH I might have to do a format in re-install the OS, but I would like to know what has caused this problem, just don't know where to begin the RCA

PS can a mod re-direct this thread to the Windows area in Software, as I do not believe its an hardware issue

TIA :)
