Hi,

I am after some help on what I will need (cables, switch boxes etc) to enable me to connect my laptop and desktop.

The situation is that I have a desktop that it not used very often but needs to remain connected for when it is used.

What I want to do is set it up so that I can connect my laptop up to the monitor and use the keyboard and mouse without having to swap the cabling around every time I want to do this.

I know that I will need switch boxes and different cables but can anybody advise on what I need?

Thanks :)

If i remember correctly you were trying to use your laptop with your dektop peripherals or some such thing...

Assume their connected through a network you could try Synergy which is a software KVM switch... not sure if this will do what your looking for but its worth a shot i guess..

That looking like a very good piece of software, I didn't know anything like that was available but I want to share a monitor so it won't be of any help.

What I have done is buy a Belkin Switch2 USB KVM with audio which should allow me to do what I want to, is that correct?

The only thing that I am not sure about is at the moment, I am using a wireless mouse and keyboard that run through a hub with a USB connection and I'm not sure if this will work with the Belkin KVM?
