Help required!

Hi

I have a (hopefully) small problem that I need some help with.

I have a monitor that has built-in speakers and I have a desktop and laptop connected via a Belkin Switch2 USB KVM. The KVM does not have an audio input port but this shouldn't be a problem as I want the speakers on the monitor to be my main speakers.

When I run sound through the laptop this comes through the laptop speakers and then when try and play sound through the desktop, it says there are no devices installed.

Any ideas how I can get the monitor speakers to work? There is no CD or drivers required for the monitor so I am stuck for ideas...

You'll still need an audio lead from your PC to the monitor.
Sorry if this is wrong info, never used a KVM, don't even know what they do, lol.

What monitor is it?
afaik you'll still need a lead for the audio as DVI does not carry audio - its basically a picture only version of HDMI

I've had a look in the back of the monitor and found that there is a audio port, I'll get a cable to get this connected.

It makes sense that the DVI does not carry audio, thinking about it now.
