Hi all I've just started my first Intel build and I'm having problems , I've put it all together it turns on power supply spins for a few seconds then stops everything comes on for a few seconds off then on then off then on what could it be

Both PSU plugs in the motherboard? The big one and the 4 or 8 pin?

RAM insterted correctly?

Give it a try with Just 1 stick of RAM and the CPU using onboard graphics and not GPU.

Full specs would help if you can!

Think it's the 8 pin connector I haven't connected but I can find the cable for it I got the evga 850 gold modular I have the two cables the go in to the big connector in but no supply for the 8 pin

It should have CPU written on the cable.

Yeah I've got two cables with cpu written on them but they don't fit it the 8 pin connector , it's a gigabyte z170 k3

Daft question - are they handed so you can't plug the PSU end in the motherboard?

Is it possible to take some pics

Spotted! Cables 3 and 4 on the left hand side in image 3 - the socket on the mobo should have a notch for the clip on the cable, just to make sure you have the orientation correct. Its a standard fit so would be suprised if it doesn't physically fit.

Got it sorted now , one of the locators in side wasn't straight so changed it out and it's on

IIRC the end that can "split" into 4/6/8 plugs is the board end, the one that is a single unit is for the PSU

They can be tricky on the odd occasion, least you sorted it

Thoutght I double check as sometimes images on the websites aren't always up to date
