Hi to all, My sister is looking for a new laptop. She does'nt play games, video editing etc, just a low spec would do for normal surfing emails etc.
If anybody could give advice it would be really helpful.
Thanks to anyone who has the time to advise.
Regards,Rob

I've recommended HP's lower priced laptops for family members in the same situation and they've always been OK and had decent longevity.
Just make sure it's got 8GB RAM and a 256GB SSD - they do absolute bottom of the barrel models with stuff like 64GB eMMC storage and Celeron CPUs, but unless money is incredibly tight these are best avoided and spending £400 or thereabouts.

My wife's first HP Pavilion was slower than an elderly snail but she did insist on buying the cheapest available....
A year later she went for one a couple of notches higher and it's entirely usable and even quite pleasant. My only irritation is the slightly odd key layout on the rhs due to HP's insistence on squeezing in a numeric pad but wifey doesn't notice this and I doubt your sister would either.
