Hi guys,

I would greatly appreciate some help, I've had a search online but this has been fruitless.

I've ran a lot of quotes lately through comparethemarket and I found a perfect quote on 20th March. I logged back in and my details had been removed! So I had to run a fresh quote which is now £300-£400 more expensive.

I still have the e-mail with the original quote, which was great but I've checked and they don't include any reference number in the e-mail? Can anyone give me some guidance, my "saved quotes" on comparethemarket are...well... not saved. It only saves the very last one.

This is driving me nuts, as it will make the difference between being able to drive the car or sticking with my very underpowered car.

Damn you insurance companies :D

It makes no difference they don't need to honour the quote anyway. As soon as you go onto the company's website that offered the quote it would go up.

Were you changing details to find a cheaper quote? If you were then some insurance company's will now decline to insure you as they have different facts about you on there database.

Yeah I did change details to find different quotes, this wasn't changing facts, but adding named drivers, increasing/decreasing mileage to see the difference in price.

I had a few quotes recently and found one week the prices went up £200, but the next it went back down. If you can try and wait a week or so and make another quote. Also try not to do too many as the admiral group(which is normally the cheapest for me) will stop giving quotes.

Thanks for the tip Soulja! I can only think that this is the reason, as it was a new week when I ran quotes with the same information
