help retrieving lost password in Vista

Hi, the Mrs gave one of my old pc's to the daughter to play Warcraft and use Word to use at her University flat. PC is approximately 3 years old and we can no longer remember the password to log in. I can't actually get to look at it until Friday as it's in Chester, but I was wondering if anybody could recommend a good program to use to retrieve and change the password as I can no longer find the original Vista install disk? Thanks.

I think I'll try ophcrack, Hirens boot cd containing Enter "Offline NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Changer or Kon boot and hope for the best or alternatively buy Vista again.

If the machine has the Vista code on it then you can use any Vista disc to install, acquired via any means, and it's all legit.
