Hi all,

Been playin with rivatuner to create fan profiles with my new 8800gt, but in the hardware monitor it detects my Fan duty cycle (fan speed) as 100% all the time!?!?!

The Card is a Gigabyte 8800GT the one with the Zalman cooling soloution on it.

The card temps at idle are about 39/40c and the fan noise doesnt seem to loud so not sure if its running at 100% or not!?!?

On the card there are two 2 pin slots for a fan.......this is the second card i have had due to the first been fauilty, the other one had a different zalman fan on it and that was plugged in to the other slot. Would this cause it to read fan speed as 100%

Is there something else i can use to monitor fan speed or is there a problem?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Mark

Could be a one that is fixed at 100% so you can't change it, like the Xpervision GT, but if its not very loud then id just leave it, have you tried seeing what speed its running at in the drivers.

Read some other posts and some say its a driver issue with the 17XXX drivers but i am running 169.25, some post say that some fans can not be changed!!!

Don't even know if fan is running at 100% doesn't seem noisy enought??

Just played Crysis for 40 min didn't notice fan inrease at all and max temp was 49.

Anybody help???

Nv monitor down the left in advanced mode, and if your on Vista, then the new 174.12's ive just posted here have the fan 100% bug fixed, but 49 is an excellent temp for load, mine used to go to 85+, so id say its working fine, most peoples idle temps are higher than that, i know mine was, was about 53-54 idle mine. :p

Oh here's those drivers :-

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17843238 if your on Vista 64bit.

Here if your on 32bit. http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17842727

Good drivers by all accounts, from reports. :)
