Help - Running a GAME SERVER on a linux server.

I have a server and I'm trying to install a CSS gameserver just to learn really..

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me an insight into the way forward!

One last thing.. do you have any idea how I would get it to run 24/7 rather than having putty open all the time?

I have to sort out the server again now.. for some reason it's giving me all sorts of errors!

What do you mean by that?

How would they be doing the work for me other than setting one up.. I would be maintaining it myself.. obviously.
