here and there....
Is it possble to repair a scrach on my monitor screen?

its a new ilyama LCD flat monitor, the scratch is small about a cm but its in the middle of the screen, im gutted, it was an accident.

any secrets out there?

I have heard toothpaste can be used.

Is it a matte or a gloss screen?

I managed to splash 4 dots of acetone on my screen. I hate it for that!

One possibility is removing the lcd panel from the monitor and then removing the anti glare coating on it as it will be the anti glare layer that is scratched (hopefully it is not deeper than that). This will leave you with a glossy looking panel and is a bit involved though.

its feels like a matt screen, its Ilyama's new Pro-lite E2271, the scratch is small, i did it opening the box with a knife can you believe????

You have to really look hard to see it, but i know its there. i wanted perfection.

i might try buffing then.. thanks

Yep, buffing with toothpaste can work, i used it to remove a few tiny scratches on an old viewsonic vx2025 lcd, also used it for scratches on my mobile phone screen.
