Help... SD card problems

Hi Folks... I have 2 cameras and 2 sd cards, the cameras can view the pictures but the computers are not, I am getting the message that I have to format the cards when they are plugged into the computers. :confused:

Even when I decided to bite the bullet and format them it says windows was unable to complete the format. I have tried a different card reader,different pc and still getting the same message. everything was fine last week. Running windows 7 on desktop and vista on laptop.

If you need the images from the cards plug the camera into your computer that can read them and transfer the files off.

As for actually using the cards, perform a fresh format in camera (low level if the camera is capable), then try them in the PC. For the sake of the cost of replacing a couple of cards my temptation would be to bin / warranty replace the cards as i wouldn't want to lose crucial images in the future if they played up again.

How about some details of the cards, like the capacity, plus some details on the readers. My first guess is that you're using readers that can't cope with the size of the cards but you have to want to be helped enough to give proper details.
