Help select me a new GFX card.

The parts I am ordering listed below, shouldn't be any problems should there?

XFX GeForce 8800 GTX Extreme 768MB GDDR3
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DHX PC2-6400C5DHX TwinX
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz
Asus P5K Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Nah, no problems there. What PSU are you running though?

Out of interest, why are you ordering the E6750? 45nm Wolfdales are newer and better.

Generic 900W power supply, like I stated above I'm open to suggestions on what to get, I haven't updated for about 2 years and back then all I ever used was AMD processors but Intel kick there ass this gen so going with intel.

I didn't get it from here, I got it from a highstreet electronics store when my power supply blow up :) it's about 2 years old, will anything have changed that would stop it from working with my new components?

Yup!

Here's a pic:

Normal intel cooler on the left vs the titchy 'wolfie' cooler on the right! :(

Also, buy an Artic Freezer 7 Pro if you're gonna overclock. That Wolfdale cooler is tiny.

Not planning on doing any overclocking just yet, just wanna get a system built thats working fine. I'm upgrading from AMD 3000 and GeForce 6800 GT so I should get a big enough perfomance boost without overclocking for the time being :)

Actually for the 14 quid it costs I might as well get the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro now :)

No, nothing should have changed. So long as its ATX 2.0 compliant, has a 24pin motherboard power cable and at least a 4pin CPU power cable.

Only thing I'd say about Generic branded PSU's though, is that they tend to be far less reliable than branded ones. In terms of quality of components, etc. generic one's aren't so good, if that is indeed what you own.

A Corsair 620W would be a good purchase. Obviously you don't need it for the wattage. Just don't want some Generic PSU blowing up all your new kit.

I don't mean to scaremonger or anything, just offering my opinion.

Hi
Just be aware the XFX 8800GTX seems to be going up in price on a regular basis (not sure how long a week is any more) - it has just increased again this pm. Everytime I get the money together it seems to jump another £10. Back to the GTS models . . .
