Hi all I have just fitted a SSD in addition to my old western digital hdd.

Both drives are detected in bios but in windows only my SSD is detected.

My bios is set as thus :

Ide channel 0 master - western digital
Ide channel 0 slave - none

Ide channel 1 master - my ssd
Ide channel 1 slave - none

I realise my hdd should probably be set to slave but how do you do it ?

Thanks in advance

look in windows click start/right click my computer/manage/storage/disk management and see if the new hdd's show up there,it might ask you to initialise them do it or assign a new drive letter to them and they will show up in windows then

if the drives are given the same drive letter as your ssd then they wont show up in windows till you do the above

Yes is showed up in disc management, I assigned a letter to it and it shows up now, thanks.
