I need to verify that I own my domian, as google says by uploading an HTML file,

How to upload the HTML file:

To verify domain ownership by uploading an HTML file, follow these steps:

1. Log into your Google Apps control panel at https://www.google.com/a/your_domain.com. Be sure to replace 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain name.
2. Out of the two verification options, choose HTML upload. Google will generate a string of text that is unique to your account. Copy the string of text from your Google Apps control panel.
3. Open your HTML editor (the application or service you usually use for editing web pages).
4. Create a new blank HTML file and paste the string of text you just copied into your HTML file.
5. Save the file as googlehostedservice.html.
6. Upload googlehostedservice.html to the root directory of your website. Remember to add the file to the root directory and not the sub-folder.

How to make sure it worked:

1. Open a new browser window.
2. Go to your website address and include the new file name: http://your_domain_name.com/googlehostedservice.html. (Be sure to replace 'your_domain_name.com' with your actual domain name.)

Could someone help me with abit more detail on how I do this please?

Can't really get more detailed than that. They want you to prove you have control over the domain by uploading an HTML file to your webspace.
If you don't have webspace tied to your domain, then you need to use the other CNAME method.

I kinda understand it, dont have any webspace mate.

Is this correct?

You need to type just one thing. its something @mejimwhite.co.uk. do not type "@mejimwhite.co.uk", you just want the part that preceeds it.

Now I cant login, WTF :s

I think thats because Iam trying to sign into gmail and ive not set that up yet.

Need to do this

1. Log in to your account at 123-reg.co.uk.
2. Choose the domain you wish to use with Google Apps in the Manage Domains drop-down box, and click Modify Domain.
3. Choose the fifth option - Manage DNS. Two default MX records will be visible:

mx0.123-reg.co.uk. 10
mx1.123-reg.co.uk. 20

4. Replace the first entry with:

ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 1

5. Click Update DNS
6. Replace the second entry with:

ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 5

7. Click Update DNS
8. Enter the next five MX records in the Add new MX box, and click Update DNS between each entry.

ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. 5
ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 10
ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 10
ASPMX4.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 10
ASPMX5.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. 10

but 123reg keeps saying

Invalid name: Each part of the name must start & finish with a letter or number. It also cannot wholly consist of numbers
Invalid new entry

when I try to change the values :s
