EDIT - MOD can you please delete thread I have made this thread in AV section - cheers

Hi all

I have just upgraded my AV equipment and wanted to set up a home media gallery. Hoping some could give me some pointers on how to do this?

I am awaiting delivery of a 1TB WD green HDD which I will set up as an extra music/video storage drive in addition to my Raid 0 (2x150gb WD raptors) for OS and games.

I would like to consolidate AV library into one on the 1TB drive. It seems that between iTunes, Windows Media Player etc... it is not that straightforward, they all seem to want to duplicate files everywhere.

1. Which library program is best for audio? for video? or both?

2. For audio what format should I use? (I will also have to rip some CDs and would like to sort out format before i take on this mammoth task)
The Pioneer SC-LX71 http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/42/98/405/SC-LX71/index.html will play MP3, WMA, FLAC and AAC music.

3. This leads to second issue with iTunes, seems that my music files in iTunes library are M4P format so I need to change them to work with AV receiver. I have tried using Format Factory 1.80 but it doesn’t seem to work when I did some test converting to MP3, WMA, FLAC and/or AAC. What is a good program for this (free would be best)?

4. When I receive the new hard drive I will I have to change the file location onto new hard drive – how can my amp find the correct location? can i just click and drag my User/.../Music folder to new HDD (sounds too easy)?

Thx for help
