hello

i was given a 8800gt and the guy told me it was artifacting and MAY be able to use it for physx.

so i thought ill give it a go.

ive pluged it in and its recognised it but what i try installing drivers it just doesnt install them on the 8800gt.

ive uninstalled all the drivers and reinstalled them still nother.

is there something im doing wrong never used a deicated physx card.

i do have 2 cards in sli but thats like installing a single card

thanks for any help

what is your normal gpu?

the 8800gt will actually give you worse performance overall if used for physx if you have 1 or 2 half decent modern cards, because it bottlenecks it

linustechtips done a test on it, it's on youtube

The 8800 will be a bottleneck.

Try downloading GPU-Z and seeing if physx is ticked there. Have you tried games compatible with physx?

Also, on the front page of the Nvidia control panel there should be physx options. Set your 8800 as the physx card.

If all that fails, try new drivers etc and then bake the card and hopefully that will solve it.
