in desperate help for anyone who can offer assistance who can help me setup my VM SH2 using a dlink DIR 879 router.

no matter what i do i have serious lag/button delay online and i honestly do not know what im doing wrong

Don't rely on people having read your other recent posts in the other threads. Post the full details of the problem so this thread will stand in its own right.

Do you have lag/delay if the SH2 is used on its own as a router (i.e. not in modem mode)?

Do you need to use the D-Link as a router? Could you leave the SH2 configured as a router, disable its wireless, and then add the D-Link as a wireless access point?

It'll depend on why you decided to add a third-party router in the first place.

ok gaming on the ps4 and a specific game has been dreadfully worse for me using a wired connection with the dlink.

however the x1 and all wireless connections in the house have benefited, however there is a dif between me playing online to my daughters getting an extra 10 feet down the garden

It seems like you've had nothing but problems with this new router, why don't you send it back and use something that's tried and tested?

Are you 100% putting the Superhub into modem only mode when using the new router? As it sounds like you could be having double NAT issues. But without knowing more details it's difficult to say.

Or see if the sh2 has a dmz setting. Assign your dlink router a manual ip address. Disable dhcp on sh2 and let the dlink take care of dhcp. Make sure to disable wireless etc on sh2.

I had to do this with my talktalk router because it doesnt like anything like modem mode. Bridge mode is supposed to be putting it into modem mode but nothing works. So i had to do the above.

Before i get jumped the dlink will take care of the firewall and ports. No point having double firewall and opening and closing ports on two routers.

im not sure exactly how to go about this.

can i set the sh2 into dmz while it is in modem mode??? or would it just me left in router mode??

It would need to still be in router mode to apply the option. Tbh mate its a pain in the ass to get working i spent nearly a day trying to sort it because the TT router doesn't like modem/bridge mode. Personally id avoid this option but i just mentioned it as a last resort i guess.
I would love to guide you through but with hardly any experience with D-link routers and not knowing your interface it's difficult to advise especially when it was difficult for me with my own hardware lol.
