got a windows 2003 fileserver (x2 3800/abit an8 ultra) which for the time being doesnt stay on all the time so it gets hibernate'd when i dont need it, however i've noticed that when it resumes, transferring files takes much longer than it should.

for example, i tried hibernate'd then resumed the server, then tried copying 100mb from the server to another machine i have on the network over a 100mb lan, no extra hubs in between and it was estimating 16 minutes! tried another machine and similarly slow performance!

however, rebooted the server and the estimate was down to about 40-60 seconds. even browsing a network share on the server takes noticeably longer than it should till its rebooted.

why does it do this and how'd i fix it?!
