I have two machines with XP SP3 with the latest Windows Updates installed. When copying a 120mb file from my own machine to the other, it 'flies' across in say 13 seconds. Copying the same file to my machine again takes in excess of 5 minutes - I'd say 20 minutes if I left it long enough.

I've used SpeedGuide's TCP Optimizer on both machines, with the same result.

My own machine is an E8400, 4gb RAM, everything at stock. Running NOD32 AV and COMODO Firewall.

The other machine is a P4 2.66, 2gb RAM, everything at stock. Running ESET Smart Security.

Help!

No need to use an 'optimizer'.

Don't you think if it was possible to optimize (properly) tcp then Microsoft etc wouldn't have already done it?
