Help! Snapped coolant hose fitting in engine block

Thanks chaps, I have since read about the hot screwdriver method, I was a bit worried about mashing the plastic up and not being able to remove it at all.
I'm half thinking of trying this, or possibly getting a garage to do it for me.. Hmm

It's a 1.2 corsa BTW, 06 plate. Well got the plastic out and got a brass replacement, bloke in garage also said the plastic ones always snap so don't feel so bad now! (it's a mates car).
Bloke in garage said the brass bit self taps, but I'll be damned if I can get it in, the tread on the brass bit doesn't have that sharper aggressive look that self tappers have.
Told him to get his Mechanic mate to tap the thread as I don't have the tools or experience in tapping threads and I don't want to **** it up.
