I am finally retiring my Q9550, which was an upgraded E6600 after 7 years.
I have a max spend of £2000 and want this to last for some time. I don't intend to replace the CPU, instead I will build a new rig when that time comes.
So this is what I am thinking.
Running Windows 7 pro 64bit
Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Quad Channel Memory Kit
Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor -
Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Dual-X OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Card
Asus Z87 MAXIMUS VI HERO Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard
Corsair Professional Series AX 860W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply
2 X Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic
Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case - Black
Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
2 X Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM
OcUK Professional 2.5" to 3.5" SSD Adaptor Plate - Black
oh and a DVD drive
I like to split my data on to separate storage for redundancy and fast access.
SSD 1 for OS
SSD 2 for Instals (program files)
HDD 1 for Data
HDD 2 for backups and images
I am not a hard core FPS gamer, I do play games but not too bothered about not having 2 graphics cards.
I would also like to make this as energy friendly as possible as I already give too much money away to the electricity suppliers.
Any advice?
