Hello Guys,

I have recently purchased a Corsair 800D

I currently have the stock fans in place and 3 Antec fans in the top.

My CPU is cooled by a Corsair H50-1 with a Akasa AK-FN058 Apache Black Super Silent 120mm Fan. Now i would idealy like to add a few more of these fans to my case but they are 4pin PWM and the most ive found a fan controller to accomidate is 1 PWM.

Could anyone recomend me 3/4 silent 3 pin fans that would generate the same or greater airflow then the Akasa fan.

Also could anyone recomend a decent Fan controller unit (Must not be white).

as the above guy has pointed out, the Zalman ZM + is doing a great job for me, and im running it with the noctua NF-P12 fans and whilst not the most powerfuliest fan about certainly does the job and they are quiet :)

Came here to ask the exact same question.

Looking for the best 3 pin 120mm case fan, and the best 3 pin 140mm fan if anyone can help?

I went for 4 Akasa Apache blacks on the roof (2 of them on my corsair h50 in push pull). All 4 are connected to a pwm splitter cable and the speed is controlled by the cpu fan header on the board. At 1k rpm they are quiet and have good airflow and static pressure. Highly recommended in these parts.

As for 140's, I left the stock HD fan, and replaced the rear 140mm exhaust fan (which I turned into an intake), and the bottom 140mm intake with 140mm Noiseblocker BlackSilentPro PK3's. They are rated at 27db, 1700rpm, 1.781 static pressure and 90cfm. Currently letting my motherboard control them and they run arond 1000rpm idle and speed up when things get hot.

Im running 6 120mm silent eagles sandwiching PA120.3 on the roof.
Rear fan is standard but switched to intake.
HDD fan left as standard
Bottom fan is a Noctua NF-P14 FLX set to 900-1000RPM

Couldn't recommend the Noctua though as its a tad on the loud side compared to the Silent Eagles. A Noiseblocker PK3 may be a better option for this.

The PK3's are definitely very quiet at 1000rpm and cool well, and if you use your motherboard (or fan controller) they can go to 1700rpm and cool even better. Good static pressure too. Seems more flexible than the Noctua 140mm which I tried first and also found them a little noisy.

For my roof fans - I actually use an akasa pwm adaptor which powers off a 4pin molex. It can only take 3 x fans though, so for my 4th apache fan on the roof I bought a gelid pwm y-splitter cable (normal y-slitter wouldn't do the job as they are only 3pin). All the fans on the roof run around 1k rpm also though can go as high as 1300rpm under load.
