Hi Guys,
I've ran into a problem and I'd like a little help please. While I'm ok speccing my own high end gaming rig with watercooling etc I'm stumped when it comes to building a little htcp build for my mom.
All it needs to do is look smart in her TV stand, stream 1080p from Netflix etc to a 32" 1080p TV, play DVD's, have good audio for her iTunes collection, browse the web quickly and boot up relatively quick say under a minute.
Cases have come down to the Silverstone GD04 or ML07 but I'm not sure what cpu/mobo/gpu to use, even if it would need a gpu with todays apu's. The main thing I don't want to do is overspec it and her to spend extra money needlessly. However I don't want something that has to work hard and run hot causing fan noise streaming a movie.
I was thinking about using one of AMD's A6 apu's possibly the 6400k in Gigabytes mini itx A88x motherboard, bumping the graphics with a discreet HD5450 in crossfire if it was needed? Obviously this would go into the ML07 but would it be enough.
I had also considered one of the Haswell Pentium chips such as the G3220 in a micro atx H81 board, possibly with a GT 620 to handle HD video.
Have you guys got any opinions or ideas, would be very appreciated. Cheers
