Basically got £1,000 to spend on some new PC components, I have a case, HDD and PSU. So what I need is Graphics Card, CPU, Heatsink, RAM, Soundcard and Mobo. Going to be used for Multimedia and Heavy Gaming. Cheers guys!

Case is Thermaltake VA9003SWA Kandalf Aluminium Full Tower - Silver
I have IDE and Sata HDD.
I plan to do some mild overclocking.
Gaming at 1920 x 1200 resolution.
PSU is Cooler Master 550W "Real Power" Power Supply

Excellent, any other specifications that can improve on Alex's?

Nope looks good, but like i said you will need a 64bit O/S to use all of that 4GB of Memory.

Also your PSU, not sure how solid it is as in the rails?

I just checked out the PSU specification, I'm not an expert when it comes to this so not sure whether this looks good...

Enough to power an 8800GTX and E6850?

Hi all, thanks for the replies. my friend msm722 made the thread on my request.

A few points though;

Gigabyte GA_P35_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard - doesn't have a firewire port will that be a problem? Also it is good for everclocking?

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - that is better then Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)? From the reviews I have read you can really overclock this up to 3.4ghz.

Going from Alex U
k's post i suspect the psu might not be powerful enough to handle the rig, any suggestions?

And finally, the price cuts are only on the cpus or on all the products?

Cheers :)
