Help! Stop Me Panic Buying!

My current IPS monitor has banding /striping and it's being picked up for RMA today (luckily 4 days before the 3 year warranty runs out).

I've been thinking of getting an OLED for a while now and read most of the posts here. Now, my hand is sort of being forced but I've also read some horror posts about OLEDs with banding, text clarity etc that I'd like to avoid as much as possible.

I mainly game but also do quite a bit of surfing too, retired so no working but my wife sometimes uses my PC to do her work (HR/Admin type stuff). My room is south facing so lots of light in the spring/summer but I do have shutters and keep them mostly closed, even during the day. In the evening I just have a monitor bar light which is the main illumination.

Budget is up to £600 but the Yorkshireman in me wants it cheaper! I'm thinking WOLED might be best for my scenario. However, I've also been reading that the latest ROG Strix Tandem suffers from banding. Sorry, 27" too.

No its not it failed within warranty if it had failed 4 days later it would be a different story.

How long is the RMA going to take did they give you a rough idea of the time frame? You clearly still have a working device of some kind otherwise you wouldn't have been able to post this and you can probably plug your PC into your TV for a bit if you can't wait until the RMA comes back.


Now if you still want a new monitor thats fine just make sure that the rest of the system is up to the job because there's no point buying a high end 4k monitor if your PC isn't up to playing the games you like at 4K.
