mobo asus p7p55d-e
case is storm scout
psu- antec tru power 550w modular

1)are my cha_fan1 and cha_fan2 4 pin connectors meant to be empty? I

2) i am confused about the molex connections that come with the case. There is one molex behind the motherboardin in a zip tie (should i use it) connecting it lights hdd up + spins.

there are then 3 molex conections from the case should i connect these to my psu. my psu has a molex cable but on the same cable it has a 4 pin connector which seems should go in on of the cha_fan slots?

3)on powering up my cha_fan2 light is red. also initail start up fails i have to presspower button again to start it.

i know its a mouthful but any help is appreciated

thanks

1) cha refers to chassis fan - important but not as important as the CPU fan header. Can be empty yes depending on how many case fans you have/don't have.

2) Anything inside your case that needs a Molex connection - use it. Anything else - forget about for now.

3) A Chassis fan should not stop your system from booting. Reset your CMOS and try again.

Question here is - why does the start-up fail? Is the CPU getting adequate power and cooling? Case or Chassis fan's should not come in to it.

ok yh i checked all the molex cables and connected everything it starts up first time so thanks for that. now my other question is to mee it seems that thefans are not spinning fast enough what should the usual rpm be for case fans connected directly to the psu. ill check this in on my mobo when i connect the monitor.

also should all fans be connected on one molex cable

thanks

Any fan connected to your PSU directly will run flat to the mat. The RPM depends on the fan as they are all different. What you want to have is a decent CPU cooler and fan with another fan(s) sucking air into to the case while an exhaust fan expels the hot air (at the top and the back of your case).
