Hi, for my university project I want to compare different servers (linux & windows). I'm limited to using virtual machines and I would like to stress test them see how they handle traffic and hardware usage. I'm just a little stumped on how to do this though. I was hoping for a networking version of prime95 pretty much. If anyone knows any programs or ways to stress test a server the help would be much appreciated. I'm just struggling to find much google wise.

It's not exactly a web server it's like a server for an office. So general traffic on the network I'm trying to test. Not sure if I could use the tools suggested though.

General copy up, copy down should help. Try doing it over few machines time it and then do it for single machines.

You could also do it by logging in on multiple machines but might take a few people for this one.

I was thinking of connecting a few machines and creating a .bat file to do a download loop. I have a link to a website that is just a bunch of character that equates to a 1MB file when being downloaded.
