I'm using windows 2000, everythings been working fine for some time now. A couple of things locked up tonight, so i started a reboot. Was taking a bit long to actually do it once all the stuff had gone and only the desktop was showing (no icons nothing) so I hit reset. I wanted to check if my windows XP cd was working so on restart, I let it boot from the cd. Once it detected things and asked me if I wanted to continue, I quit the setup, rebooted and took out the cd.

Now the problem is that it reaches the screen where theres the graphic of "windows 2000" and the blue loading bar. That bar reaches 3/4th of the way and then just gets stuck. Someone please help! I tried safe mode, and it took a long time bu managed to boot into that, but doesn't boot normally.

Anyone, any ideas? Help is greatly appreciated

Edit - Very sorry. Problem seems to have been resolved. I was browsing on google as well for a fix and read somewhere taht taking out the USB connections helped. So i disconnected my hub and my scanner and for some reason, that worked and it's loaded now. Sorry for any trouble and feel free to delete this thread.

This is the second time this has happened >_< I asked for help, and then the problem gets fixed before anyone can reply.
