Hi All,
I'm looking at a problem for someone who is running Win 2k pro.
Windows crashed and on the reboot he chose to auto repair and from what I can gather it did a full surface scan and repaired "Bad Clusters" - This took 3 hours he said!
Everything seems to of "moved", he can see all of his file shortcuts but they no longer open.
The Docs and settings folders now says "username.bak" and his profile is also corrupt.
I cant copy the files out of the directory.
I have some software called "get data back" so I'll give that a go.
Any other ideas though? what has actually happened?
