Help sys won`t post ..

Hi all ..

I just upgraded my sys an i can`t get it to post

New bits are :
Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Edition QX6800 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.93GHz
Noctua NH-U12F (Socket LGA775/754/939/940/AM2) Heatsink
DFI Infinity P965-S Dark (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)


Now all my old bits still work cause i lifted the new MB out an put my old sys back in, i know my HD drives, DVD/CD, VGA, an other cards still work also the monitor. ( ohh yeah an my Hiper 580 type R is aswell )

i noticed that my mouse wasn`t on with the new build usauly the red LED on the bottom comes on when u power up !

also the blue power light on my Lian li V2100 tower was flashing at me

Now when i power up all the Fans, Cpu, Tower,and Vga start up np.

both the LED`s on the MB come on ..

i tried removing the battery for 5 mins to reset the MB, nothing !!

any ideas guys cause iam really stuck

iam new to the intel skt 775 after being on the other side for a few years ..

ohhh yeah i read all the manuals first before i did anything ...

Cant try the new parts in anything esle casue my old MB was a AMDskt 939 ddr set up.

swapped the ram sticks around an tried in different slots.

the MB manual says it supports my cpu out the box.

what would stop ya system fom posting ?

yes did that no luck

system powered up an switched it self striaght off
again

the 2 secs later it came back on it`s self ...

never seen that b4 ??

Another thing aswell when i hold the power switch in on the front off the tower the sys turns off but the blue led for the power on stays on an flashes
till i turn the main switch on PSU off ..

left all the cables out for the front USB ports ..

Also there`s a niffty power button a reset button built on to this MB so u can
power it on without havin` to connect the speaker/atx switch/power led up on the MB ..

but yes they where connected right ..

just tried that a few mins ago

dragged the mb out checked the cpu was in right reseated the HSF.

plugged in my vga card (which does work) tried it both Pci-e x16 slots

connected both 24 pin an 4 pin power connecters inc 6 pin VGA power

an hit the power button on the MB

NOTHING .. no post screen just powered up all the Fans an LED`s on the MB!

but there`s no power to KB or Mouse either ??

another quick Q if u take out all the ram isn`t the MB suppose to beep at ya ??

the beeps to mean there`s no RAM installed ?

Thx for all ya help guys found out what my bug was

MB manual shows pics of 2 white an 2 blue DDR2 slots but the MB has a white blue white blue set up !!

anyways tried the memory in all the slots an one stick at a time .. thats when i found out one of my sticks is pooched

Sys booted an posted with 1 stick but not the other or both of em in place together .. at the same time ..
looks like it`s RMA time god i hate doing this, havin to go with out my sys for how ever long it takes to RMA
