Hi

I bought my Xbox 360 Elite from a well known high street game shop (Do that again and you get suspended, it's against the forum rules)

Anyway. Its started to freeze ALL the time! It even red ringed twice. Its really annoyin, I thought the Elites were fixed.

I took out there 2 years extended warranty which im glad i did!

Now, can I take it back even though it might not red ring or crash straight away? sometimes it wont for an hour or so. Also, do i need to take it back in the box? and do i keep my harddrive? i dont want to loose all my saved games/gamertag and achievements.

Thanks

EDIT: I dont know much about xbox's / gaming in general so dont go mad! :P

If your elite is less than a year old you have every right to take back your elite to the shop and dont let the shop fob you off to MS. I took mine back to a well known games store and they let me swap out the console and keep my HD.

Im sure if you ask if you can keep your old hard drive instead of having the new one will be okay, thats what I did when my dvd drive died.

When my friend had his replaced at the well known store, they let him keep his HDD & put the new HDD on the dead xbox. I'm sure they'll do the same :)

when i traded in my old launch console for a newer falcon based 360 i was allowed to keep my old hdd.

not sure if it's the same shop chain though as i didn't see this thread before the competitor was deleted.
