HELP! THIS IS DOING MY NUT! OVERCLOCKING CPU BUT HAVE TO CLOCK RAM AT SAME TIME!

Hi people!
just trying to get my e6600 to run faster, currently at [email protected], 1.35cpu vtt, nb at 1.4v and sb at 1.50v.

problem is, when i`m upping my fsb on my cpu (with the fsb in unlinked mode) i`m still having to steadilly up my RAM fsb in order for it to post.
Take for example when i went from 3.150 ghz to 3.195 i had to up the RAM fsb 10mhz in order for it to post.

When you look at the set fsb on the ram in bios it displays what i have put in. then underneath this it gives the actual fsb. If the computer won`t boot it give the stock fsb underneath (667). If i`ve got the fsb (ram) at a value that works it displays the one i set it at (i.e. for 3.195ghz i needed it set at 710mhz as opposed to 700. it displays 709.xx mhz because it boots and runs fine at this).

I don`t mind doing this if it won`t bugger anything up, but i`d like to know the technical reason why its happening.

my ram is two DDR2 ocz high peformance 1 gb 667 sticks (says premium module on the box??. When i put it in linked mode do i use the 667 divider (3:2)?? also could i damage the ram by doing this.
only i though the point was to do it in unlinked mode so the ram didn`t have to be touched?
would it be best to run the blend test in prime 95 then (running one on each core)

i`m currently at 1440 fsb (cpu) with 720fsb with my ram and cpu timings linked and in sync. Its been running dual prime 95`s with the voltage settings as above for about 2 hours. going to keep it going until about 8 hours (if it does!!)
shall i keep going? i know you say that it won`t work but there no harm in experimenting is there?
i was going to move onto upping the fsb further by increasing the vcore if it proves it is stable currently (changing the cpu vtt from 1.35 made no difference making it stable with the fsb above 1440, so as the basic overclocking guide says, i`ll move onto the vcore section and see if i can up the fsb further by increasing the vcore)
shall i keep my memory voltage to auto?

bizarre, would you say i`d be better then buying better ram for my system? i only want to get to 3.4ghz and i`ll be more than happy, so you think there`ll be any chance of getting that with my current setup?


btw, i bought this computer already built and have learnt about the overclocking after buying so i`ve got what i got (teach me for not reading into things!)

so you`d recommend moving onto the vcore next and try upping the fsb further with this?

Also, there`s this latency tightening, i really don`t understand this but would like to get my head around it and give it a go, is there anyway you could explain it? would it be worth it on my memory?

are you on watercooling? my tuniq with antec ultimate gaming case is running at 54 deg on full load! ah, i see your using the blend test!! what does it show on small fft?

failed after 6 hours!!!!
gone back to 3.2ghz with same voltages, going to run that, if stable i`ll then move onto the vcore !!
