For some inexplicable reason, I am having massive problems with my keyboard keys. Some of the number keys seem to be attached to function keys, for example pressing the "five" number key automatically refreshes the page. Number "one" brings up a new webpage and I cannot understand why. In IE, the "p" key also brings up a bloody F12 function debug box.

Also, the backspace key does not now repeat if I hold it down, I have to key pressing it numerous times to erase characters.

I have performed comphrehensive virus scans using a variety of software, I've tried reinstalling the keyboard using device manager. The keys work properly using the "virtual" keyboard but the real one is a pain.

I am using a Sony VIAO laptop and Win7. Here is a picture of the keyboard:

Any help very gratefully received.

Have you tried getting new drivers from the sony website?

Also did this happen suddenly? Do you remember anything that might have caused it?

If it was recent it might be worth trying a restoring to a restore point before the problem started.

All of those things?

Okay also try:

Fresh windows install
Find keyboard settings in control panel and play around
Completely uninstall the keyboard driver before putting a new version on (from sony site)
