Trying to work out the best bundle for £700 or less which will have the most processing grunt (I'll be using it for Software Development).

Would i be spending my money wisely going for the bundle below or do you think i could do better??

CPU: Intel Core i7 3820 3.60GHz
Motherboard: Asus PRO P9X79 Intel X79
RAM: GeIL EVO Corsa 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Quad Channel Kit

Been told the CPU will overclock to 4.4 as per:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-093-OE&groupid=43&catid=2384&subcat=2175

The config above can be had for £690 (OcUK prices).

the 3930 could be fine pricewise, but the 3960 at £799 is too expensive (was hoping to get the ram and motherboard included for that much).

would i be better getting a different motherboard for the 3930K?

Update:
CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor
RAM: GeIL EVO Corsa 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Quad Channel Kit
Motherboard: ?? Asus PRO P9X79 Intel X79 ?? (would reallly like a gigabyte board if not going with asus)

It's worth mentioning that the max amount of RAM you can use with 7 Home Premium is 16GB, you need professional or ultimate to use 32GB.

Im using windows 7 ultimate. Thanks.

Any suggestions on motherboard? what about http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-374-GI

Anyone see any problems with this config:

(£242) BOARD: Gigabyte X79-UD5 Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3
(£460) CPU: Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor
(£150) RAM: GeIL EVO Corsa 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz Quad Channel Kit

Total=£852 ... 150 over budget but 2 extra cores and four spare memory slots on the board ;)

Thanks for the pointers stulid...its been a few years since ive been at overclockers door :)

You need the i7 3930K in your life.

6cores+hyperthreading = 12 threads.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-3930K 3.20GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011 Processor - Retail £459.95
1 x Gigabyte X79-UP4 Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard £209.99
2 x TeamGroup Elite 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED316GM1600HC11DC01) £53.99 (£107.98)
Total : £789.31 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Remember you need to add a heatsink that fits socket 2011.

Ill either go with this suggestion or up the ram to C9:

i.e. two of these... GeIL EVO Corsa 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit [GOC316GB1600C9DC]

which heatsink would you suggest ? ...quiet/small/keeps it cool is what i should be after i guess
