I've got Intel badaxe with E6400 but was considering switching to a 680o mobo, wasn't happy with the overclocks on badaxe (good solid board though). Another reason I want to switch to another mobo is full sli support. I have got bfg 8800 320 meg and thinking of upgrading it to sli in about 2-3 months. Can anyone recommend a good solid 680i board please outta:
EVGA 680i
BFG 680i
MSI 680i
asus p5n32 680i
ECS 680i (this one a bit tricky but I can get it shipped from the states, too bad OCuk don't sell them)

asus striker and abit in9 are a bit outta my budget tbh so I'm not considering them. and i also need 1 extra PCIe 8x slot for SCSI controller.

not sure but the way I look at it in the EVGA mobo description it has got one:
* 2 x PCI-E x16
* 2 x PCI-E x1, 2 x PCI
* 1x PCI-E X16 Graphics Expansion Slot (x8 Electrical)

thank you.

They are all the same motherboards. They are all nVidia Reference Design Motherboards and are pretty good. The only difference between them all is the packaging and bundles they come with.

Yeah I know that, but some people go for more expensive brand of the same mobo so I'm curious why? I mean theres 25 quid difference between p5n32 and evga mobos. why pay extra? surely not because of the bundles?

It's mainly down to the warranty and the bundle, I chose the BFG as the warranty and customer support is pretty good like EVGA so you basically pay more for a better service.

The BFG came with a free game Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter which is pretty good.

Buy the cheapest (MSI I think) and enjoy. But a 650i is half the price and does the same job.

ordered 680i EVGA today, hopefully I will not get a chance to find out how 'beta' ithe 680i boards are.

yeah I was going for 650 but like I stated above I need SLI for upgrade to second 320mb g80 and a spare PCIe port for LSI MegaRAID SCSI controller.

Thanks for the help anyway :D
