Hi all

Forgive me starting a double post but i think it got lost in thread

The Vipers say 1.65v but the UD5 does not have the option is it safe to go 1.66?

cpu ratio - 20x
bclk - 200
DRAM - DDR3-1600MHz 1.64
Turbo Mode - Disabled
CPU Voltage - 1.3v in bios
QPI/DRAM Voltage - 1.31v
Mem multi - 6 (just underclock it until 4ghz stable)
QPI Link - x36
IOH - 1.12
Load Line Calibration - Enabled i read that this a bad idea and can kill the board long term? worth keeping it off?

booted into windows started prime 95 BSOD withn 30sec temps where about 68c any help pls i not a pro at this as you can see

I had the same issues with mine when trying a BCLK of 200. In the end I found that by going to a lower BCLK with a higher multi I could use less vCore and hence get lower temps and a more stable clock.

On the UD5 I enabled Turbo mode in the Advanced CPU settings, Multi-thread enabled, disabled all energy saving, then back in the main menu set the Performance Enhance to Turbo (so it runs the multi at 21x) and then used a BCLK of 191 and a vCore of 1.23

This gave me a stable clock of 4,011MHz and I was seeing temps of 36/39 Idle and 68/74 Prime Blend testing.

I have since upped the BCLK to 194 with the rest of the settings the same so am now getting 4,074MHz and am still below 80 degrees at load.

As for memory I have set that to 1.64v so as to stay within the rated spec.

Hope this helps :)

Right, have just been having a look around in my BIOS and I have the following:

Load Line Calibration: enabled
QPI voltage: Auto
DRAM voltage: 1.64v
IOH voltage: Auto

So there's not much help there I'm afraid other than to say I didn't have to change very much to get this clock stable - I am running faster RAM so am using a 10x multi on that but the Patriot is good stuff so you should be fine for a 4GHz OC.

Whilst I was in BIOS I upped my BCLK to 195 (left all other settings unchanged) so have now got 4,095MHz and hence RAM at 1,950MHz - idle temps are a bit higher now at 41/43 degrees, will get some testing done to see if this is stable.

Cheers si running prime as we speak failed once so nudged the vcore again
Temps 72c after 12min

cpu ratio - 21x
bclk - 191
DRAM - DDR3-1600MHz 1.64
Turbo Mode - Enabled
CPU Voltage - 1.281v in bios
QPI/DRAM Voltage - Auto
Mem multi - 8
QPI Link - x36
IOH - Auto
Load Line Calibration - Enabled

Will update in abit :D

Big thanks for the help mate, hope using Auto is safe on QPI voltage but using the above template gets me the below at room temp of 27c

Will play some games if no problems will do a longer prime. Then ill post in the memory thread as mine are complely pap lol

Thanks Again

No probs, looks good so far. Those temps are looking pretty nice too, reckon you could push it a bit further if those temps stay stable.

Small steps though, that's the way!

Haha yeah i think she my have 4.2 in her but i promised myself if i get 4.0Ghz i would stop neglecting the family, also gives me 10c for the upcoming summer ment to be a scorcher this year. Will sort the memory out and leave it be till winter....;)

Just thought i would ask here rather a new thread. Do any of you that have a 4ghz oc with the UD5 have both LEDs on near the top of the mobo near the CPU. the manual say its CPU temp and says it has 2 colours green and red:p i have 1 green and 1 amber lol Normal or....?

I have the same, 1 green, 1 amber - I guess it's normal as I've never had a problem.

Just yell if need any more settings m8.

Any one else maybe with the 4Ghz bundle confirm that they have green and amber on above the cpu all the time please

EDIT: is there a way to turn them off there a tad bright on my desk top lol
