Hi Folks I'd like some help here please on how to switch my broadband.

I'm currently with sky for my phone line and broadband,

I want to move the broadband as it's become that slow I'd be better going back to the 56k days.

I've been told by sky that I'm "Fully Unbundled" to skys network even though I've technically got a BT Installed line going to my house.

I'd like to move over to Bethere broadband, my exchange is enabled but because I'm connected to sky it's not showing that I have a BT line.

Now I've explored a few options here :

First one :

I tried to stupidly move back over to BT last week for my line rental.

They said that I'm on a LLU based line and that I would need to be moved over at the exchange (No cost to myself)

They also pointed out that it would cost me £21.50 per month (charged quarterly) for the line rental and anytime call plan + £2.50 calling buffer and something else that I've forgot about, this would also be a 12 month contract but they would cease my sky broadband and enable me to sign upto Bethere for the broadband.

After consideration and finding out some of BT's hidden charges for caller display and also paying £59 upfront which I wouldn't get back after the 12months because any advance charges and not refundable I decided to cancel it on the very same day.

So I'm back to square one

Now I'd like some help on which way is the best to enable me to switch my broadband over to Be.

My dads on Be Broadband and he's also got sky talk line rental (he swapped from BT last year) but his line is not fully locked to sky.

He's suggested moving over to the post office for my BT for a month or so, sign up to Be then move back to sky again for my phone (as post office doesnt offer anytime plans)

It's quite a strain on the brain getting.

Please could anyone help

Thanks

Stats from router:

DownStream Connection Speed 1070
UpStream Connection Speed 198

I've contacted sky, theres no problems, it's a new line only installed about 15 months ago by BT, I'm on a LLU Line controlled fully by Sky with phone and broadband.

They said theres no problem with the line

I think it's sky's service tbh, Just would like to know the best method to switch to Be and any charges.

Thanks

right first off everyone,

I cannot get these stats from my router (it's a sky type sagem model)

It only displays the router stats with upstream and downstream information (no mention of Db and like noise)
Other details mentioned and MAC address, IP, LAN and Firmware information.

As regards to the testing of the line, yes I've tried connecting to the main box which is coming into my house right into my home office, it's a brand new BT installed main box with in built microfilter, I've tried removing two screws and plugging the router directly into the "hole" socket, this does nothing to improve anything, I've two phone extensions coming from the main box, all have microfilters and I've tried disconnecting them, used spare mircofilters and also check the wiring behine the main box just incase any have come loose (there is two small wires going from the black BT cable into the main box)

I've tried using speedtest and get just over 1mb and dire upload speeds, I posted the router speed stats in my last post.

I've also tried changing the modem line with another one from my netgear router that I had spare.

I'm connected to skys "unlimited" service, I've used my desktop PC, netbook and Macbook Pro and all give the same stats with speedtest, videos take forever to stream from sites such as youtube, my other half also uses facebook and fines it painfully slow.

I've tried doing firmware upgrade (it's the newest and current one)

I've tried unplugging the router and leaving it unplugged for 20 mins, I've tried re-setting it.

I used to be on Virgin 20mb line and only moved across at the time because sky was offering a better deal for the phone and broadband plus I wanted to move over to sky HD

I've been told by BT that be use there own equipment at the exchange and that it won't be on the same system as sky's

The line going to my house is in good order and the exchange is about a mile away.

One thing that I will mention is quite a lot of people on my street are on SKY, I know this because my laptops pickup lots of SKY access points from peoples routers etc.

I've come to the point where I've just give up with the service and as originally posted that I would like to know the best and cheapest way to change over to a BT enabled line and over to Be.

I don't want to move back to Virgin BB as they throttle and packages are expensive just for the broadband.

Btw : Sky report no fault with my phoneline or broadband connection, I contacted them yesterday to question my ceased BT order and I told them that I was getting dire speeds, they said that basically it would be upto 24mb and to live with it, they didn't blame me for wanting to move connection.

Thanks for your time
