Help trouble shooting new build problem

I recently built an i7 rig that has started to give me problems.

Basically at random times my PC will freeze or crash. Sometimes it restarts itself from the crash but will not boot, other times I have to hard shut down the PC by cutting the power.

I've looked in the bios when this happens and for some reason the new Corsair LS SSD I installed is not there to boot from, which is obviously why it cant boot into the OS.

I have to cut the power and hold the power button down, then boot into bios for the drive to be detected again, and then reset my primary boot device back to the SSD.

Any ideas why this might be happening ? Faulty drive, bad install, wrong bios settings ?

My specs are :

Windows 7 x64

i7 2600k clocked at 4.2 ghz (cooled by H60, no temp issues)

ASUS Maximus IV with latest bios update

16GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600mhz

Sapphire R9 280X Vapor X

1 x Corsair LS 120GB SSD

2 X Seagate Barracuda sata drives

EVGA Gold 650w PSU

Any help would be very much appreciated

First thing to do is reset the BIOS, load setup defaults and try again.

If you still get problems try the latest firmware from here - also download and run the toolbox from the same link.

Awesome, thanks for the link. Didn't realise you could update firmware for an SSD. Tried using bios defaults but the problem persisted.

I'll give the link a try and see how it goes.
