Hi

I have a spare Acer Aspire that I want to turn into a NAS box. (Running FreeNAS)
The case isn't an issue. I can get a Micro ATX one easily enough.
The problem is that in standard form the motherboard only has one SATA connection.
I need another 3 to make a half decent NAS box. Not worried about RAID btw.

The motherboard (Micro ATX with Intel processor) has a type 3A mini-PCI slot which I think might be the answer.
Anyone know if I can get a 3 port SATA mini PCI card?
Or, failing that a riser board so I can plug in standard SATA cards.
I could at a pinch use USB or the Firewire connections but really don't want to.
Am I barking up the wrong tree trying to use it as a FraaNAS base ?

Cheers
Chris
