Help upgrading cpu

Hi ive been pc gaming for a couple months now and am enjoying it a lot, because im getting more interested i want to upgrade my cpu but not sure what to get. Ive currently got an i5 750, is an amd a10 7700k better than this or any other suggestions would be appreciated

First off welcome

To use the AMD cpu you would need an AMD motherboard so that will cost you abit more... The problem is these are older chips so no route to upgrade if you buy this old, best to go for newer DDR4 platform that way you'll be safe for a fairly long time from now....

Do you have a budget in mind for the upgrade your after?

Ah thank you for telling me lucky i didnt buy it when i saw it.
I have a price range of about 200 to 220, so would an i7 be a sufficient upgrade. Maybe an i7 950?

Do you know the specs of the other components you have... Make sure you have a decent power supply

My power supply is only 300w but in planning to upgrade to an 600w as i also want to upgrade my gpu possibly to a gtx 1060, i currently have a radeon hd 7850

Before you go any further, answer two simple question:

• What exactly have you got hardware wise?
• What are you playing and at what resolution?

If you’re GPU limited, then a CPU upgrade is largely pointless, as is recommending anything without having at least a basic idea of the variables involved.
