Hi,

I am upgrading my memory in my dell dimension 4400 and i don't really know what type to get.

It can take a max of 1gb which is what i am aiming for, the processor is a pentium 4, 1.80GHz if that matters.

Thanks.

I'm confused though because on that link its under DDR Ram and i thought it was DDR SDRAM and i need PC3200?

yeah very true, but SDRAM IS VERY OLD.! i doubt you have that,

simplest way to check is open up your case and take a stick of ram out, if it has 2 notches at the pins its SDRAM if it only has 1 then its DDR

but there is a pic of the slots on that site which show only 1 notch so im sure the ram i suggested is perfectly suitable..

I want to look around a bit tho and my mate might have some. If i am looking i ask for DDR or DDR SDRAM and what PC thing.

:o new find dell website;

Q: Does my computer support dual-channel memory?

A: No.

Your system does not support dual channel.

PC3200 will probably be a heck of a lot easier to find, so get some of that and the computer will automatically run it at PC2100 speeds.
