HELP !!! (Urgent) 290x not being detected!

BTW a good number of Gigabyte BIOS use the F2 key to get into BIOS (even when it says delete in the manual) - start tapping it as soon as you hit power.

EDIT: Just tried a similiar board to yours and it responds to both delete and F2 even though it says F2 on the start up screen and delete in the manual :|

Then your board is faulty or you are not pressing the right switch.

The board also has a dual bios, so make sure you are on the one that you have updated.

I have managed to get into the bios but I have not flashed from F6 to F7 I moved from F4 to F6 originally and it didnt work.

Im going to try and flash F7 now and see what happens.

Well this is the thing F6 is dated August, the 290X came out in October, so you needed a BIOS that was at least later than October, F7f came out last week.

Hope it works anyway, need sleep. :)

F7 is a very nice revision for the bios much nicer to look at lol.

Going to connect the power leads to the 290x and see if it works this time.

Think ive literally tried everything lets see hopefully this bios rev solves the issue.

wow so F7 doesnt even work... just black screen again yay. -_-

I thought these OCUK Custom cards were "checked" before being sent out.

I literally cant think of anything else that could be wrong with it.

Latest bios onboard GPU disabled pfft.

So basically I went into windows with both graphics cards on the mobo and went to device manager.

The 8800 was obviously detected as being in PCI bus 2 and the microsoft basic display adaptor was noted as being pcie bus 1 but had an error sign next to it saying due to lack of drivers it could not be initiated.

So I went to install the drives then immedietly it detected Radeon R9 Series card was in pcie bus slot one but STILL with an error mark on it saying that it could not be initiated and windows has stopped its function...

So i tried a restart after deinstalling the nvidia driver..... and leaving the catalyst driver intact and it was a no go still dead.... its even been detected now....

WTF

Dunno what to do :( this is such ******** because even if I have to RMA it I would not get my card till after new year would I.

So im in windows right now on the integrated gpu and I can clearly see my R9 290 in the device manager but it says Error code 43 next
to it and that windows has stopped this device due to it reporting an error..... WTH man.... been googling this and got nothing...

Have you tried http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18539433 to remove the nvidia drivers using new gfx card install option and then reboot then install the amd drivers and reboot again etc.

Btw what is the rest of your build like also which psu?

Click on my build log in my sig it will give you everything in detail -

Problem is to even get into windows I have to use the onboard once im there i can uninstall any drivers which I have done.

I then have to come back into windows with my onboard to install the amd drivers because the card wont output to the moniter in hdmi or dvi.

I then go and install the drivers and in device manager the card is detected as R9 200 series but with the error picture saying Code 43 windows has stopped the device because it has reported problems....

What the eff -_-

To make matters worse booting into bios is hard enough with how fast this computer loads into windows by the time the signal hits the screen im already in windows and spamming del or f2 doesnt work due to keyboard not actually being detected untill in windows ( this is due to how fast it boots ).

I used the boot to bios button on the mobo this worked ONCE.... now every time i press it nothing happens.

Honestly wtf man really ****ing ****ingme off now.

Here you go.

Ive also uninstalled that 8800 driver and any amd related drivers and done a reboot and its not worked.

So now in order for me to even get into windows i need to have my 8800gt on aswell.
The 290x no matter what I do in device manager has that code 43 error i mean wtf.

Ive tried what:

Bios flash: up to the latest versions
The switch on the GPU bios
Reseating the gpu....
Changing psu leads...
Changing DVI cables and using other ports...
Using HDMI cable ( both ports)
Using different moniters...

Rebooting with various different drivers installed or uninstalled....

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL **** im going insane.....

This should literally been the most easy thing to do... spend like 2 days getting this beast together which took actual work and the thing that cocks up is a lousy graphics card.

I just trusted him to find out... I hope that if it comes down to RMA monday morning that OCUK will be willing to do something amazing...because after waiting over a week for it to even get dispatched due to shenanigans, waiting till after the new year will **** me off so bad.

I have nearly exhausted all avenues in regards to troubleshooting... what I dont get is how its being detected but there is no display output at all no matter what is done -_-
