Almost all new motherboards no longer has the PS2 port...Also, do you have an old PS2 keyboard as you may be having trouble due to the bios setting for usb keyboards on boot being disabled.
I do find it quite odd that with both the 290 and the 8800 installed, it's booting the 8800 as the primary.You haven't turned off the PCI-E lane its in have you?

I think you'd be surprised how maybe still carry the PS2 port, especially the high end boards.
Not the onboard "driver" in windows...you need to get into the bios and disable the actual onboard GPU.I've tried removing all the cards deactivating on board driver sweeping and then booting up with the 290.... No display out put at all guys.
Flip the bios switch on the graphics card itself.
Re-install windows?.
