HELP, VERY slow download speed

Hi

I have had Be since last wednesday and connect at about 14meg
My problem is while the uploads are fine (1.3meg) i only get downloads at speeds of 10-50KBs. I have the box connected to my master phone socket and i have no extention. The only time it has worked was on late thursday night when out of the blue it started to download at full speed but before and since then it has been useless. The only thing that i can see that stands out is in my settings for my router i have noticed that the download FEC errors run into the millions (35 million in 24 hours) just loading a web browser adds a few hundered. I have tried different cables and filters to no effect. The only advice Be gave me on their helpline was to delete my internet cookies and temp files
i am adding a copy of my router stats

Uptime: 0 days, 0:34:53

Modulation: G.992.5 Annex A

Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,304 / 14,370

Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [KB/MB]: 302.00 / 1.54

Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.0

Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 15.5 / 32.0

SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.5 / 6.5

Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB /

Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0

Loss of Link (Remote): 0

Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 1 / 0

FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 16,838

CRC Errors (Up/Down): 6,279 / 1

HEC Errors (Up/Down): 1,930 / 0

These were taken after my router had only been connected a short while

please can someone help me

Sounds like they need to either
a) reduce your sync rate (usually by setting a maximum which is lower than what you've got just now, then keep reducing it till you hit a point which is stable)
b) up your target SNR (which'll have more or less the same effect, less speed, more stability)

Thanks for the reply

So you are saying its definatly a problem with Be and not something which i have done?

They origanally told me to expect between 9 and 10 meg downloads so i was quite surprised to connect at over 14

Sounds like it.
Modem connected to master socket, no extensions, rapidly incrementing error counters. Not a lot of room for you to screw anything up.

It sprang into life early this morning. My download speed was over 1.2MB/s according to the test on adslguide.org, now it is about 550KB/s.
