Help wanted possibly

Now Me+Misses were down London way and took some photos and 1 example is below (a re sized ver)

Now this was taken on a cheap (£40) vivitar 4mp camera, it only has 2x digital zoom which is rubbish but i still think the camera was good value for money

So realistically could i get a better.. well a lot better camera for say £120 which is at least 4mp and 2x optical zoom and maybe stabilizing as well?

I know it seems easy but i'm just not sure..

Hmm, that image is horrendously out of focus. I'd be very surprised if a ~£120 camera wasn't much, much better (if the pic above is anything to go by). There are loads out there, it just depends what you want.

By the looks of it you've just found a cheap tilt & shift camera

That was a bad example and didnt look that bad on a 6x4 heres a better example;

An rough ideas on what to look for/at for £100?

You can get cameras from people like Fuji & Samsung for less than £100 with 5M pixels /3x optical , you can even get the Canon A410 (3M / 3x optical) for £109 on the high street. They are not bleeding edge technology but would give much much better results than your Vivitar .

sorry for going OT but those babies' expressions are great. The one on the left looks like he's plotting the downfall of James Bond. The one on the right looks like he should have a pint in his left hand and start singing vindaloo

seeing you said about the a410.. well is the next model up good also a430 4mp and 4 optical zoon any good? does it stabilize (the pic) its self or not?
