HI,

Just got my new rig up and running, but all the extra Bios settings on this new board are blowing my mind!

So many more options than on my dear old A8V Deluxe.

New Rig specs
Asus A8N32 -Sli Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 (2.2ghz core, 1mb l2)
2GB (4x 512mb) CMX512-4000 Corsair (250mhz)
e-GeForce 7950 GX2 Evga superclocked gfx card
2x 250gb sata HDD in raid 0
Vapochill XE case/cooler

I have had a little play and got it up to 2.750ghz, used 11x250 with ram at 250 too, but was not 100% stable. I increased core v to 1.5 and ddr v to 2.8.

It must be able to do more as my old Amd 64 3500 used to sit at 3ghz running 24/7 stable on my A8V Deluxe.

Your experience and expertise with this MB would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks guys,

I was really more after the various diff bios settings info this MB provides you with.

I know how to set the Voltages, FSB & HTT, but do I need to play arround with the other settings?

The 4 sticks was never a problem in the A8V.

IF I don't need to mess with the other settings then I will throw some volts at it and also give it a go with just 2 sticks.

Hehe, the thing is not even fully installed in the case yet and trying to OC it!
Waiting on some fans to be delivered to help cool the MB heatpipe.

Cheers

Thanks guys,

Got it stable @ 2.75 ghz, using 9.5x280
But I cannot seem to manually set the divider via the bios.
I have the ram set at 166 in bios giving me 229, with a divider of cpu/12.
If I up the fsb, the divider just increases giving me no control.

If someone knows how to set the divider on this board, I would be very gratefull for the help!

Also the cpu core voltage seems strange on this Mb, have set it to 1.565v, but all my diag porgs show it as arround 1.47v. But, if i set the over-voltage cpu core to enabled in bios, it does not seem to matter what setting i use as it goes to arround 1.632v. When set like this it also fluctuates greatly back down to arround 1.58v.

Temps are no problem, sits at arround 1c idle and goes upto 15c when under full load for a while.

Thanks for the advice, but that does not seem to change the divider.

I have been running the cpu at arround 2.7ghz with the mem set to limit as you suggest and have it set to 166. I have tried various settings from 9x300 to 10x250, but I can't seem to control the divider. It seems to vary from cpu/14 to cpu/11.

It is currently at 9x300 with cpu/11 giving me 250mhz.

I do want 2gb of mem, but would it be better running 2x 1gb sticks than 4x 512mb?

Cheers
